About

The South India Digital Publishers Association (SIDPA) is an industry body representing digital publishing companies that create branded, quality content. SIDPA stand up for the interests of media owners and individual journalists and political commentators from diverse backgrounds.

SIDPA is a Not-for-Profit organization with objectives:

– To serve the shared interests and protect the general interests of its members across political, legal and regulatory matters

– To aid, help, promote, encourage, develop, protect and secure the interests of the Digital News Publishers in South India

The values of SIDPA

As members of the SIDPA, we have an obligation to promote the highest ethical standards for journalism – as they apply to the values of accuracy, fairness, honesty, inclusiveness, and courage.

– To aid, encourage, develop and protect the interest of the Publishers in the Indian digital Industry;
– To promote and protect freedom of press in India.
– To provide a single platform for the Company to voice its concerns to government authorities;
– To protect all its Members from persons or entities who carry on unfair/unethical practice or who discredit the digital media Industry.

Membership

SIDPA membership is open to any News organization that demonstrates a commitment to publishing high-quality digital content and meets SIDPA’s membership criteria.

Membership in the South India Digital Publishers Association (SIDPA) connects you with the successful peers of digital journalism – multi-platform news professionals who have established footprint in the industry, with emerging technology and starting up the news sites of the future.

Organisations/Entities:

Indian Digital Media Websites are eligible to apply for membership. The companies / individuals who own the websites will need to apply with details of their organization including registration number. They will need to adhere to the values of South India Digital Publishers Association (SIDPA) in Digital Journalism as given in the SIDPA website.

SIDPA offers memberships for both organizations, and Individuals.

Organizations: The membership fee for organizations are Rs. 10,000 per annum. For your application to be considered for membership, two member organizations including at least one founding organization, will have to support, the application and the Board will have to approve the membership application. The approval of the application is at the discretion of the SIDPA Board.

Individual Journalists:

The membership fees for individual members is Rs. 5,000 per annum. Individual journalists and News analysts can also be members. For individual applications to be considered for membership, two members of SIDPA, including at least one founder member will have to support the application. The approval of the membership application is at the discretion of the executive committee board.
